Rolex 24 At Daytona - Race Notes 6

Driver Quote: Rocky Moran Jr. (No. 99 Pontiac)
"I was coming into the chicane following a Ganassi car coming up to the No. 77 car, and all of a sudden the No. 77 car just went off track and spun right in front of me - I had nowhere to go. The front end's pretty much wiped out, nose, radiator, splitter, everything. I really feel bad for the whole team, we were having such a strong run, clicking off a good pace and just turning laps. We'll get the No. 99 GAINSCO Auto Insurance Pontiac Riley back on track and see what we can do - there's still 19 hours to go."

NOTE: The No. 10 Pontiac has retired from the race officially at 4:55 PM after examining the damage caused in their incident with the No. 24 BMW earlier in the race.

Quote: Bill Riley, (No. 10 Pontiac)
"The damage was extensive, but we could have fixed it. It would have taken about six hours. Our concern was that there could be stressed parts or something hidden that we might not have found initially that could cause additional problems down the road. We just didn't feel that it was safe to try to repair. We're all just glad that Emmanuel is all right."
