Lap 69 - 2:03:19 (3:33 PM) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE: No. 05 AUBERLEN pits (ALHADEFF in), handing the lead to No. 01 PRUETT.

Lap 70 - 2:06:01 (3:35 PM) - No. 10 MAGNUSSEN heads back out on the track. No. 60 NEGRI pits, handing control to CASTRONEVES.

Lap 71 - 2:08:38 (3:38 PM) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE: No. 01 PRUETT pits, handing control to MONTOYA and giving the lead to No. 6 JAMES. No. 39 FITTIPALDI pits, MASSEN in.

Lap 74 - 2:12:55 (3:43 PM) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE as No. 6 JAMES pulls onto the apron and continues slowly with a flat left front tire and heads back to the garage. The crew is replacing the alternator belt. No. 01 MONTOYA now leads.

Lap 79 - 2:22:40 (3:53 PM) - No. 7 FESTA comes to a stop in the chicane with front damage. The machine continues slowly to its pit. No. 11 DUNO spins off-course but continues.

Lap 2:26:53 (3:59 PM) - Race-leading No. 01 MONTOYA holds less than a second lead over No. 02 DIXON, who is trailed closely by No. 58 LAW. In GT, No. 74 HENZLER has led since Turn 1 of Lap 1.

Lap 81 - 2:26:53 (4:03 PM) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE: No. 02 DIXON passes No. 01 MONTOYA for the lead in Turn 6.

Lap 81 - 2:26:53 (4:10 PM) - Race-leading No. 02 DIXON locks up the brakes heading into Turn 1, but doesn't seem to do any damage.

Lap 81 - 2:26:53 (4:13 PM) - No. 6 JAMES returns to the track.

Lap 94 - 2:48:45 (4:19 PM) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE: Through lapped traffic, No. 58 LAW works around No. 02 DIXON for second overall. No. 82 PALLIS spins in Turn 5 into the grass but continues. No. 01 MONTOYA leads.

Lap 96 - 2:53:30 (4:23 PM) - No. 16 GAVIN makes a pit stop. GT-leading No. 74 HENZLER pits (FARNBACHER in), giving the class lead to No. 85 EHRET.

Lap 98 - 2:56:34 (4:26 PM) - No. 75 BRAUN and No. 58 LAW make pit stops. No. 59 FRANCE pits and MORENO gets in.

Lap 100 - 2:59:07 (4:29 PM) - Second place No. 02 DIXON comes down pit road and WHELDON gets in. Rules state no driver can drive more than three hours, and DIXON left the machine with less than a minute to go.

Lap 101 - 3:01:55 (4:32 PM) - No. 99 VASSER comes down pit road for service.

Lap 102 - 3:02:54 (4:33 PM) - No. 91 JOHNSON stops and stays in the car.

Lap 103 - 3:04:40 (4:34 PM) - No. 58 LAW incurs a stop-and-go penalty plus 60 seconds for leaving his last pit stop with pit equipment still attached.

Lap 103 - 3:05:50 (4:36 PM) - No. 10 MAGNUSSEN pits and GORDON takes the wheel. The seatbelt was not positioned properly on top of the HANS device, but GORDON fixed the issue himself without having to return to the pit.

Lap 104 - 3:07:45 (4:38 PM) - No. 05 ALHADEFF pits, giving the wheel to WEDLINGER. No. 60 CASTRONEVES pits, as does No. 19 LABONTE (McDOWELL in).

Lap 107 - 3:13:35 (4:43 PM) - No. 84 LEGGE runs off course in the chicane, removing the nose of the Pontiac Riley. She comes down pit road for repairs.
