Good morning and welcome to Daytona International Speedway. The 3.56-mile, 14-turn road course will host Round 1 of the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 schedule. At your service today and throughout the weekend are Grand-Am Vice President of Marketing and Communications Kevin Hindson, Grand-Am Public Relations Manager Reece White and Grand-Am Public Relations Coordinator Michael Harker.

Entered for this weekend's Rolex 24 At Daytona are 25 Daytona Prototypes and 42 GT machines.
10:05 a.m. - GREEN FLAG waves to begin first practice session of the season and the weekend.

10:10 a.m. - BLACK FLAG displayed to all as No. 09 MICHAEL MCDOWELL in the SPIRIT OF DAYTONA RACING PORSCHE FABCAR has stopped in the chicane. Officials have gone to retrieve him and will take him back to the garage area. In the five minutes of action, 29 cars posted times.

10:14 a.m. - GREEN FLAG flies to resume action.

10:20 a.m. - There is a report the No. 21 car has right side fender damage.

10:25 a.m. - No. 6 AJ ALLMENDINGER currently leads No. 58 DARREN LAW and No. 99 JON FOGARTY on the speed charts overall.

10:30 a.m. - BLACK FLAG all for heavy debris on the backstretch. The bellypan on the No. 84 Porsche GT3 was coming loose. No. 2 MIKE ROCKENFELLER has made his way to the top of the charts with a best lap time of 1:42.331, followed by No. 7 MATT PLUMB, No. 91 MARC GOOSSENS, No. 6 AJ ALLMENDINGER and No. 9 RYAN BRISCOE.

10:37 a.m. - GREEN FLAG displayed to resume practice.

10:42 a.m. - No. 58 DARREN LAW moves into the lead with a time of 1:42.175.

10:44 a.m. - BLACK FLAG all as No. 81 RICHARD LIETZ tags the tire wall in Turn 1, causing structural damage to the entire right side of the car. No. 66 ANDY LALLY is the fastest GT driver at this point.

10:51 a.m. - GREEN FLAG displayed to resume action.

10:54 a.m. - No. 63 HIMA MAHER and the No. 52 FERRARI come together, causing superficial cosmetic damage to the PORSCHE. The PORSCHE will be back in time for qualifying this afternoon

11:03 a.m. - Among the fastest in GT are the No. 66 PORSCHE GT3, No. 86 PORSCHE GT3, No. 27 PORSCHE GT3, No. 07 PONTIAC GXP.R and No. 70 MAZDA RX-8.

11:05 a.m. - GREEN FLAG waves to resume action.

11:09 a.m. - Sixty-five of the 67 cars have taken times during this session.

11:18 a.m. - The top eight Daytona Prototypes are separated by less than a second.

11:23 a.m. - No. 72 car is stopped on the track.

11:25 a.m. - The top five in Daytona Prototypes comprise of four different engine makes, and they are the No. 58 PORSCHE, No. 2 PONTIAC, No. 7 BMW, No. 59 PORSCHE and No. 02 LEXUS.

11:27 a.m. - The top five in GT are No. 67 PORSCHE, No. 57 PONTIAC, No. 66 PORSCHE, No. 4 PORSCHE and No. 27 PORSCHE.

11:30 a.m. - CHECKERED FLAG waves to end the session. No. 58 DARREN LAW was quickest in Daytona Prototype competition at 1:42.175, while No. 67 TIM GEORGE JR. was quickest in GT at 1:51.640. RECAP - No. 64 PORSCHE lost its transmission but will also return for qualifying.
