LAP 402 (13:30:50) - No. 9 KURT BUSCH pits (XXX in). No. 99 JIMMIE JOHNSON takes fourth position from the No. 9 PENSKE-TAYLOR RACING entry while it is in the pits.

LAP 405 (13:34:01) - No. 91 RYAN HUNTER-REAY pits, giving second position to No. 01 DARIO FRANCHITTI and third position to No. 99 JIMMIE JOHNSON. No. 87 DIRK WERNER pits. No. 69 LONNIE PECHNIK pits (EMIL ASSENTATO in). No. 86 LEH KEEN pits. No. 61 COLIN BRAUN returns to the field. No. 76 DARREN TURNER pits.

LAP 408 (13:41:09) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE - No. 01 DARIO FRANCHITTI takes the lead from No. 6 BURT FRISSELLE as the leader pits. Drivers are reporting debris in NASCAR Turn Two and also by the chicane from the earlier incident with the No. 3.

LAP 409 (13:42:38) - FULL COURSE CAUTION - There is debris all over the track that is too close to the race line, a caution is called for corner workers to clean it up. LAP 412 (13:53:12) - Heavy rain begins to fall unexpectedly. Many teams are discussing pitting again to put rain tires on. Nearly the entire field pits to put on rain tires.

LAP 413 (13:55:32) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE - No. 99 JIMMIE JOHNSON takes the lead as he and No. 01 DARIO FRANCHITTI pass No. 6 AJ ALLMENDINGER for first and second places, respectively.

LAP 414 (14:01:17) - GREEN FLAG WAVES to continue the race. The rain continues to fall. No. 6 AJ ALLMENDINGER spins at the exit the east horseshow and falls several positions before continuing. GT class-leading No. 67 SPENCER PUMPELLY, No. 52 MA CHI MIN and No. 10 MAX ANGELELLI given penalties for pitting out of sequence.

LAP 416 (14:04:39) - GT CLASS LEAD CHANGE - No. 67 SPENCER PUMPELLY pulls in to serve his penalty, giving the GT class lead to No. 70 NICK HAM. No. 75 OLIVER GAVIN spins in the east horseshoe but continues, pulling into the pits on the next time by. No. 61 MARK WILKINS pits. No. 9 HELIO CASTRONEVES pits.

LAP 419 (14:09:55) - Top five overall: No. 99 JIMMIE JOHNSON, No. 91 RYAN HUNTER-REAY, No. 01 DARIO FRANCHITTI, No. 6 AJ ALLMENDINGER and No. 23 BILL AUBERLEN. Top five in GT: No. 70 NICK HAM, No. 66 ANDY LALLY, No. 67 SPENCER PUMPELLY, No. 57 ROBIN LIDDELL and No. 69 EMIL ASSENTATO.

UPDATE: No. 61 COLIN BRAUN experienced a fuel problem and went to the garage. The crew found a clogged fuel filter but couldn't determine cause. While Braun sat in car, crew worked on fuel system, and also worked on front suspension, which may have been damaged during an earlier off. After that excursion, the car pitted for a new front splitter, and the team changed the brake rotors at the same time.
