LAP 32 (01:01:31) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE as No. 99 ALEX GURNEY picks up the lead when No. 7 MATT PLUMB pits for routine service. No. 99 ALEX GURNEY is the fourth overall leader on the day. No. 64 JOHANNES VAN OVERBEEK blows through a chicane.

LAP 33 (01:03:19) - No. 27 KEVIN ROUSH comes into the pits. The top five in GT are No. 81 PATRICK HUISMAN, No. 74 DAVID MURRY, No. 70 SYLVAIN TREMBLAY, No. 67 SPENCER PUMPELLY and No. 62 MARTIN RAGGINGER. No. 89 JORG HARDT has a flat tire and brings the car into the pits.

LAP 34 (01:05:10) - No. 9 HELIO CASTRONEVES reports "traffic is crazy!"

LAP 35 (01:06:53) - Earlier leader No. 7 MATT PLUMB is down to 20th. No. 61 MARK WILKINS' team reports the team is halfway through its stint. No. 58 DAVID DONOHUE pits and the crew takes the hood off. No. 99 ALEX GURNEY pits for routine service. OVERALL LEAD CHANGE as No. 10 MAX ANGELELLI takes the point. No. 63 HIMA MAHER has stopped on the backstretch. GT cars pitting include Nos. 26, 50, 87, 34 and 50. No. 75 TRACY KROHN pits and OLIVER GAVIN gets in.

LAP 37 (01:10:19) - No. 10 MAX ANGELELLI comes in the pits for fuel and tires only; his crew says he is being too hard on his tires. No. 50 JOHN FARANO spins in pit lane, but his crew pushes him back out of the grass and into action. OVERALL LEAD CHANGE as No. 60 OSWALDO NEGRI takes the point.

LAP 38 (01:12:07) - No. 58 DAVID DONOHUE again pits and this time the crew takes back cowling. No. 51 MIKE NEWTON pits and gives the car up to TOMMY ERDOS.

LAP 39 (01:13:51) - No. 68 JOHN MAYES returns to action after being behind the wall. No. 58 DAVID DONOHUE returns to action. The team reports extensive vibrations. The top five in Daytona Prototypes are No. 60 OSWALDO NEGRI, No. 61 MARK WILKINS, No. 91 MARC GOOSSENS, No. 01 SCOTT PRUETT and No. 02 SCOTT DIXON.

LAP 40 (01:15:35) - The top five in GT are No. 70 SYLVAIN TREMBLAY, No. 67 SPENCER PUMPELLY, No. 62 MARTIN RAGGINGER, No. 07 PAUL EDWARDS and No. 64 JOHANNES VAN OVERBEEK.

LAP 41 (01:17:19) - No. 01 SCOTT PRUETT pits from fourth and returns to the track in 12th. There is a loose wheel on the back straightaway, coming from No. 09 GUY COSMO, who nearly hit the wall. There are reports of tire rub and smoke coming from No. 88 FRANK STIPPLER.

LAP 42 (01:19:03) - No. 09 GUY COSMO pits for service and MICHAEL MCDOWELL gets in the car. There is very minimal damage on the car. The No. 83 PORSCHE GT3 returns from behind the wall. No. 76 NIC JÖNSSON moves to eighth, ahead of No. 77 MEMO GIDLEY.

LAP 44 (01:22:35) - No. 3 SHANE LEWIS, running 14th, pits for routine service. There is no driver change. No. 90 DAVID RUSSELL brings the BMW M6 is in the pits for routine service. No. 6 AJ ALLMENDINGER takes fifth away from No. 23 BILL AUBERLEN.

LAP 52 (01:36:45) - FULL COURSE CAUTION for No. 40 CHARLES ESPENLAUB stopping in apron in Turn 4 and Cheever Racing teammates Nos. 16 ANTONIO GARCIA and No. 51 TOMMY ERDOS and a wheel stopping on track. Prior to the yellow coming out, Nos. 23 BILL AUBERLEN pits and hands car off to PATRICK LONG, and No. 91 MARC GOOSSENS pits from second, handing the car off to JIM MATTHEWS. LAP 54 (01:42:56) - OVERALL LEAD CHANGE as No. 02 SCOTT DIXON assumes the lead when many of the Daytona Prototype leaders pit. The top five are No. 02 SCOTT DIXON, No. 91 JIM MATTHEWS, No. 61 MARK WILKINS, No. 60 JUSTIN WILSON and No. 6 IAN JAMES. GT drivers 52 ROBERTO RAGAZZI and No. 34 MIKE FITZGERALD pit out of sequence and will be assessed drive-through penalties. No. 86 WOLF HENZLER pits and gives the GT LEAD to No. 70 NICK HAM. The top five in GT are No. 70 NICK HAM, No. 67 EMMANUEL COLLARD, No. 81 PATRICK HUISMAN, No. 74 DEREK SKEA (for DAVID MURRY on last stop) and No. 86 JORG BERGMEISTER (for WOLF HENZLER on last stop).
